![]() THE OLD POISON BUILD PRE 3.0 PATCH IS DEAD. ![]() :)Īttention, read the spoiler beforme proceeding In addition, now hits 7.5 times per second giving a bit more quality of life for builds that rely on hits, either to fill more easily Surgeon's flasks or to apply poison.įuture: I have hopes of BV 10 hits per second. ![]() The reduction in the number of stacks came with the intention of giving a higher QoL (quality of life), since spell echo was practically mandatory to BV to achieve the maximum number of blades taking a lot of time, an excellent QoL for bosses who attack quickly and almost non-stop and also to clean maps, making the process of recharging the stacks less tedious and with more lasting effect. Now has a limit of 10 active spinning blades (down from 20).īV is a fairly strong melee spell where the character, if he does not have a proper build, can easily die. Now has 10% increased critical strike chance for each blade. Now deals 35% more damage with hits and ailments for each blade (up from 30% for hits and 20% for ailments). Now has 35% increased hit rate for each blade (up from 10%). The number of hits per second was still causing a lot of performance issues, so BV was modified to have a maximum of 5 hits per second with 20 stacks. Its damage has been reduced by 30% at all levels and it deals 30% more damage per active blade. The skill now has a base hit frequency of 600ms and has 10% increased hit rate per active blade. Instead of separate hits for each active blade, the blades now increase the frequency at which all enemies in the radius take damage, and the amount of damage they take. Their number was limited to 20 stacks per second and up to 40 hits per second.īlade Vortex has been refactored. The high number of stacks were causing several performance problems in servers and in the game, each blade could hit up to 2 times per second causing 50 stacks up to 100 hits per second. It now deals 63% more damage at level 20. On 2.3, I don't think the changes to Enfeeble and Warlord's Mark with have much effect. When released could accumulate up to 50 stacks.īlade Vortex now has a stack limit of 20 (down from 50). I tried removing the increased acc on whirling blades but it drastically reduced my fortify chance. Plus, frenzy charges are always nice.Īt this point I don't know what I'd do with a 6-link - other than reduced mana. Also, for mobs that survive the 1st few hits, there is a good chance they are frozen - reducing incoming damage. Leaving few mobs for res, exploders, consuming. ![]() With it, I have a total of 20% freeze chance which combined with Hatred (& crits) almost all whites and many blue/yellows shatter. I even died to a corpse exploder.Īfter that I went back to using Ice Bite. This allowed a higher # of blades and made curse immune mobs a little easier.īut, after playing that way for a few days, I found I was taking more damage. I may be limited by my mana leech rate.Īfter awhile I settled on reduced mana as the 5th gem. The tool tip may have shown higher dps but I couldn't sustain as many blades. Ice Bite - due to the initial socket colors (it was also leveled some as I used it before I got spell echo)īecause of my small effective mana pool, only 109, using poison/Phys to lightning and other expensive supports actually lowered my real DPS. Using these as a base some of the supports I tried: Since then I've experimented a bunch.Īs a reminder with a 4-link I had BV - Added Fire - Faster Casting - Spell Echo. Prior to the 1st post, I hadn't had a chance to play around with my new 5-link. I've updated the skill tree in the original post. Reached lvl89 but didn't make my goal of 90. 1) maps with reduced/no regen take a little extra care Reserved mana - the dual curse auras + hatred leave me with 110 mana. Most of the time mobs that charge or leap die (whites), or at least get stunned (blues/yellows) when they hit the outer edge of the vortex. Also, until about lvl85 it was only 4-linked. I needed mobs to get close enough for warlord's give me leech but ideally not so close to always be able to hit me. If things seem a bit dangerous I pop the smoke cloud flask.įor damage, Blade Vortex seemed like a good choice (plus I'd never used it). I also run Blasphemy + Warlord's Mark + Enfeeble, and have Fortify linked with Wirlling Blades. ![]() Specifically, from the tree I go with Phase Acrobatics. The core of this build is strong defense from the tree and curses. I haven't seen another quite like it - maybe for good reason :) ShadowSaw is lvl 88 and still going strong - my previous highest was 80 (and was struggling). In the Perandus League, I ended up with a build that served me well enough to prompt me to post about it. So I need a tree that gives me a good solid base. So, I can't count on getting great gear, or even a specific unique. I just prefer to play than spent time trading. ![]()
